Every bet asks an opponent to make a choice.
In tournaments, a C-bet is more than “continuing the story”: check effective stacks and upcoming blind pressure. Short-stacked, many pots need a more direct plan.
On wet boards and multiway pots, tighten up instead of auto C-betting like cash. Spend initiative where steals and strong hands need protection.
